It has been a few days since Christmas has passed, but the season is still occuring! Regardless, happy holidays, merry Christmas, and have a happy new year to all. For Christmas this year, I made my family a healthy Christmas lunch with a garnished log cake for dessert. During the day, we went to the theatre to watch Assassin's Creed, which was a tolerable movie, but I would much rather play the video game. Of course, my family and I opened our presents, as this is what this post is about. I am more than grateful for my gifts, but remember that Christmas is centered around spending time with your loved ones.
Hope you enjoyed your Christmas and I truly hope you have a prosperous and healthy 2017!
Skincare is a crucial practice one must do in order to keep their skin healthy and youthful. During the chilly winter months, it is more than necessary to hydrate your body, your skin, and your hair. The brisk weather can really take a toll on you. In addition to drinking lots of water and hydrating yourself in different ways, skincare methods, especially in the frosty months, can preserve and protect your skin, so I decided to write a post describing my skincare routine in the winter.
Face washes: First Aid Beauty Daily Face Cleanser & Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser
I use the First Aid Beauty cleanser in the morning, when my face is feeling a bit dehydrated, and let me tell you, this face wash does the job. I use the Bioré black charcoal cleanser in the evening, when my face has been covered in BB cream all day. This cleanser is ideal for getting deep in the pores and cleaning them out, but it feels so refreshing at the same time.
Moisturizer: Garnier SkinActive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
I am a huge fan of cooling creams, and the Garnier gel moisturizer makes your skin feel extra cool and soft, as it is a gel. It is super light on your face, which is why I have never gone back to a different face moisturizer.
Masks: Its Skin The Fresh Sheet Mask: Honey & Feeling Beautiful Avocado & Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask
Occasionally, I'll treat myself with a sheet mask about once every two weeks. My favorite so far, has been the honey sheet mask, which I bought from Urban Outfitters. Another mask I have been using forever (actually though, I think I bought this three years ago, and I'm still using the same bottle, but it's just as new :D) is the ... I absolutely love this - it creates a cool, but cleansing effect on your skin and this only takes less than 10 minutes. Once it dries (which takes about 8 minutes), you simply wash it off. Both masks are my favorites and I recommend them.
Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream & La Roche-Posay Effaciar A.I. Targeted Breakout Corrector
I went to France last year and I purchased a couple of the imperfect correctors. For the past year, I have been using them as an acne spot treatment and a acne scars blemish remover. I cannot begin to emphasize the magical capabilities of this corrector. If I notice a zit at its beginning stages, I apply a little bit of this at night and maybe the night after that, as well, and then the zit fades away. I also use this if my acne scars seem more apparent. The Shiseido under eye cream is a bit expensive, but I have noticed a little bit of a difference, as I have been using this for maybe a year and a half now. The difference isn't drastic, because I am prone to rub my eyes (I wear contacts, so my eyes get dried out fairly easily), which decreases the effect of the eye cream. If you are looking for a quality eye cream, I would recommend this one, but if you are looking to experiment, I would wait to purchase this, just in case you find something better.
Well, friends, there you have it - my winter skincare routine for 2017! If you have used any of the products or have any other products to recommend, let me know below! I am always looking to expand my horizons in terms of skincare.
The holidays are here, but as you buy more and more gifts for our loved ones, you find multiple holes in your wallet by December 31st. Therefore, I have oh-so-happily gathered a few relatively inexpensive, but useful gift ideas I have encountered online.
