I recently saw Mockingjay Pt. 2 with a couple of friends. I have read the trilogy twice, and I am definitely a fan. However, I will say that I was not too impressed with the conclusion of this epic book series. When I read Mockingjay, the first half was a bit boring, so I was surprised when I found out that Lionsgate was going to make it into two parts. The first hour or so of Mockingjay Pt. 2 was uneventful, but the other half of the film was exciting. The prior films were better and more interesting, but this was not horrible. I would not see it more than twice. If you are a fan of this series, I obviously recommend it, but please don't get your hopes up. Out of five stars, I would give this movie a 2.5.
Have you seen Mockingjay Pt. 2 yet? What were your favorite parts?
Where I live, the weather is just starting to cool down and that can only mean one thing--the holidays are near. Super pumped for this holiday season! It's all about spreading love and kindness. As a result of the instant holiday cheer, I decided to make myself a nice cup of hot cocoa. Of course, I had to photograph it.
Wow, I can't believe it's November. Two more months, and we will already be into 2016! By this time, I actually thought we would have flying cars.........I'll be honest--this post doesn't really contain anything special, as the title may imply. I really just wanted to take some time and reflect and learn about my experiences I have had in the previous month.
Let's start with school, the first and foremost thing on my mind. School has been really stressful. I took the PSAT, but because I am still a sophomore, I only took it to see where I am, compared to others. Our school had two days of statewide testing, which went well.
I went to two debate competitions last month (those were my first). I felt really unprepared for the first and I had no idea what I was doing, but once I got over my first round of debating, I started to like it and I got a feel for it. Although my partner and I didn't do that well for the first two, we hope to practice more to succeed in other competitions.
I got into student senate at my high school! So far, we have planned the Fall Fun Fair.
We have several robotics competitions coming up! I'm super excited! We are still in the midst of building our robot and programming it, but I am confident it will do the tasks it is supposed to do.
One thing I want to work on in November is time management. I've been trying to juggle several extracurriculars, homework, studying, volunteering, and blogging, but the end result is sleep deprivation. My goal is to excel at my activities and keep up with school, but also end up having time for my self. I have noticed that one thing I am also struggling with is recognizing my priorities. Once I learn how to sort my priorities, I am sure it will help with managing my time.
Happy November! Thanks for reading, y'all.
